ALR Projector Screens for Bright Rooms & UST Projectors

Ambient Light Rejecting (ALR) projector screens preserve contrast, black levels and colour saturation even in daylit rooms — the right choice for living rooms, boardrooms and ultra-short-throw 4K laser projectors.

    How ALR Technology Works

ALR screens use a precision optical structure — micro-lenses, micro-louvres or angular-reflective layers — that accepts light from the projector while rejecting overhead and side lighting. The result is much higher perceived contrast in rooms you cannot fully darken.

    • Standard ALR for long-throw projectors
    • CLR (Ceiling Light Rejecting) for ultra-short-throw 4K laser projectors
    • Up to 2× perceived contrast vs matte white
    • Available in fixed frame and motorized formats

    Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an ALR screen for my living room projector?+

If you cannot fully darken the room, yes. ALR preserves contrast and colour under normal lighting where matte white looks washed out.

What is the difference between ALR and CLR?+

ALR rejects ambient light from multiple angles. CLR is a specific variant optimised for ultra-short-throw projectors — it specifically rejects ceiling light from above.

Can I use an ALR screen with a regular long-throw projector?+

Yes — choose a standard ALR (not CLR/UST). For UST 4K laser projectors you must use a CLR/UST-specific ALR screen.
